the best movie i saw in 2023.
i didn't expect much when i first started watching it. i had seen posts on twitter about it and was intrigued, so i downloaded the movie and started watching it.
paul giamatti, dominic sessa and da'vine joy rudolph all play their roles perfectly, dominic sessa being the standout with this being his acting debut in film. he makes his character angus tully an awesome, relatable and charismatic character that even in the beginning…
what a strange movie.
hideaki anno surprised me with this one, being his directorial debut for a live action movie. he decides to use digicam cameras to shoot the movie, and has shots alternating from widescreen to fullscreen, and in peculiar angles.
my thoughts?
good cinematography.
great acting by the actresses and the men they encounter.
but man, i hadn't felt so uncomfortable while watching a movie in a long time, but i understand he had to get the message across.
strange, but good movie. :-)
the best music biopic ever made, paul dano as past brian wilson and john cusack as 80s brian wilson was such genius casting.
the level of detail this movie it has during the studio scenes and how (kind of) accurate it was historically is amazing. this is not your typical biopic where they exaggerate the details, what happens in this movie happened in real life.
i love this movie man, and i love brian wilson and his music. :)
