the contrived roles except for haluk bilginer and the butler and the film's overall polished, superficial, and overly ornate dialogues made it feel far from truly deep. maybe for the same reason despite its attempts at profound writing, it lacked a genuine sense of reality for me. and also maybe it’s because i haven't watched a high budget production in a long time, the film was visually stunning for me and while its final scenes that laden with confrontations with life left a strong impression on me, the script ultimately fell short in my eyes.
