Girl on the Third Floor 2019
This movie is worth a watch for the practical effects alone. If you're a fan of gross horror, this is for you. The unfortunate thing about this film is that it had so much potential. The ending revealed to me that I had very different ideas about this story than the people that made the film. Anyway, the ending is garbage but it's a fun watch.

This film was so promising (slight pun intended) and did deliver in some respects, but overall the ending really undid a lot of the progress the movie made. I do think that Carey Mulligan and Bo Burnham gave stellar performances and this movie did successfully capture so many truths about sexual assault. But to kill the main character violently on screen was so tone-deaf. I understand the artistic choice, but it feels like an overthought move meant to shock the audience with no consideration to the real world human impact.
