Not the usual murder mystery we get from Malayalam cinema, it tries to rise above the ordinary to pay tribute to the great Mammootty, and in that respect, the film succeeds.

The way this film kicks off and then weaving it to an event of an actual film which took place in 1984 is brilliant.

Though slow paced, the eventual climax reveal does payoff, and the character of Rekha does leave a lasting impression in your hearts

    Another win for Malayalam cinema.

Kunchacko Boban delivers a performance of a lifetime as a high-ranked officer who falls from grace and embarks on a path of redemption.

We rarely see a protagonist, let alone a police officer, portrayed in such a vulnerable manner, and I think that aspect alone is a triumphant take for viewers.

To take a rare medical disease and to give the protagonist with an unlikely stature of a superhero, is a terrific idea on paper.

And the way they executed it was better than I expected, the action sequences were so innovative, hilarious and brutal , utilising his condition to the max , making this a really fun watch

And Jack Quaid feels perfect for the role, his stature and mannerism is the same as the character in the boys, with the only difference we get to see him grow stronger as an action star here

Highly recommended due to its rewatch value.

Loved how Magizh Thirumeni stayed true to its genre rather than giving way to unnecessary commercial elements.

Though slow paced, enjoyed seeing Ajith in such a role after years, he along with Regina who gets a solid role and performs it well.

And Magizh puts his and Ajith's strength to good use with the action sequences, that hummer fight sequences is definitely one of the best choreographed action sequences in Tamil Cinema

Though the film has its flaws, its always wonderful seeing Ajith shedding his star image, playing someone vulnerable, the restrained role here will only do wonders for GBU 🫡
