    Tough watch as a parent. Enjoyable overall, a little too much shakycam at some points and the soundtrack wasn't as strong as I would have liked. Plus, it was hard for me to take John C. Reilly seriously--more of a casting issue than an acting issue, I think.

    I'm not quite sure that we've hit peak eightiestude (eightiesness? whatever the appropriate word is for the property of embodying the 80s), but Poltergeist is pretty damn close.     AM1200 is a well-executed short film—though I wouldn't consider it to be spectacular, there were a number of aspects that I did quite like. First, I felt that the film did a good job of building tension, both in the visual and auditory realms (the use of silence was excellent). I do always appreciate when a film can get it done without needing to lean too heavily on jump scares, loud noises, etc.
