  Gorgeous filmmaking! The influences are there, but the writing makes the film its own. Polemical without being patronizing or naïve, and sentimental but not saccharine. Enjoyed this!!

  Did I watch the same movie everyone else did? 

  Pros: 
  - the camera work is so dynamic!! Constant feel of movement + nausea which captured the movie’s spirit 
  - awesome soundtrack. Loved all the percussion
  - signature green tint is always welcomed 
  - very visually pleasing. Practically every shot works as a stand-alone photograph 
  - liked the black and white slow-mo scene with Takeshi Kaneshiro and Charlie Yeung’s characters

  This movie defeated me. I felt like a small child with a brain the size of a walnut. My god. Unlike any other film I’ve ever seen. Will need to rewatch this when I am not sleepy. 

  Needs to be watched in a stern wooden chair to maintain composure
