  "It's just an itch" this line alone embodies the film's main theme and I liked how the itch served as a psychological metaphor, how insignificant things may seem at first but then they can gradually intensify and consume like, guilt paranoia but in this case, it's quite literally a parasitic force. It was interesting to also look at how mental illness runs through Val’s family, this definitely adds more depth into the metaphor and it makes me look at the different ways the itch symbolizes as psychological stress and different types of trauma throughout her family. Despite all this, I cannot watch this film again.

  This showed her loneliness perfectly, she was trapped in her own luxuries yet unable to connect with anyone. Made me pity her honestly.
