This is a very well made film. It captures the human heart through a genuine connection made through two completely different men and shows us the brutality of the segregation in the United States in the 1960’s.
A friend of mine in his review told me that the movie “reeked of academy desperation”. I would like to reiterate that the film won 3 Academy Awards and whether you consider the Academy serious or not, the film still won three awards, so I don’t know what more he was expecting. The movie did its job.
