This was good but I don't know if it deserved Best Picture or Best Original Screenplay. I think this was a political pick to show how far America has come and to teach us how we can behave to move even further in the right direction. Besides the first couple of minutes, this took forever to get going. I get that this is done on purpose for suspense but this still could have been 20 minutes shorter. The last 30 minutes were worth the wait though. I was trying to watch the original first before this but accidentally got the remake and decided just to watch it in reverse. Nevada Smith 1966
This was a great story and screenplay with an ending that reminded me of the The Revenant. I really like Steve McQueen as an actor. My eyes were fixated at him throughout the movie because he was 36 years old playing a character that was 20. Make-up wasn't as good back then as it is now so he had to rely solely on acting to come across as that young and he pulls it off. So it was fun seeing how he approached the character.
