  Never been the biggest musical fan, and I haven't seen the stage show, so take this with a grain of salt, but this seemed like a relatively forgettable interpretation to me.

  Was worried that a 2.5 hour movie would drag, particularly for something that is only a part one. While a few things probably could have been cut, I never really noticed the run time, so that's something I guess.

  I'll need to revisit this one.

  I think it's well made and well acted (they're both fabulous at being uncomfortable), and definitely tries to be evocative, with its success at doing so being dependent on how much its core themes resonate with you.

  It's perhaps a little heavy handed in places, and to me, tried to do a bit too much at times.

Following
