this movie is just perfection with multiple references like the poem annabel lee by edgar allan poe or the attention to symbolism like the ending shot where ellen is covered in lilac with nosferatu dead in her arms because they signify first love and he was the only one who heard her and saw her.
the love story between thomas and ellen too the "i am unclean" scene is engraved in my brain.

visually amazing even though some camera shots were annoying to me.
christina ricci looks and is absolutely stunning in this movie which is in my opinion its only redeeming quality.
its very much giving manic pixie dream girl where the guy is an ass but suddenly has a redemption arc out of nowhere cuz one girl was nice to him.

although it wasn't the main point of the movie, the starvation storyline really resonated with me especially in that one quote where Cathleen says : "but maybe I also thought that if I made myself starve on the outside, I wouldn't feel myself starving on the inside."
