I saw this in a cinema again and I totally forgot avout some of the cool musical editing and the fact that there's so much handcrafted work in this (the collages, the costumes). Far before punk, but still very punk.

The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power Global Fan Screening 2022
This truly doesn't feel like a fantasy series because none of the fantasy elements seem to have much meaning to the story. And it's based on the work of one of the best fantasy writers of all time for crying out loud.
And after 4 episodes the dialogues are still so full of bad exposition that I can't even tell you a lot about the characters. They feel hollow because of it.
I gave up and began rewatching The Dark Crystal series, that somehow seems to be better in literally every aspect.

Very charming in it's animation style and theme. Also, as a Dutch person, I absolutely loved the amount of detail that went into making this feel like The Netherlands: from the dykes to the architecture to the specific plants you'd see in a typical Dutch garden.
Unfortunately though, it suffers a lot from a weak script. It lacks important character moments, which makes many the characters feel unrealistic. But at least the voice actors do a wonderful job.
