Adagio for the strings was criminally overplayed.

Kiss Me Deadly 1955
This has to be the best 50s film I have seen so far. It’s gritty, funny, and intense. Kiss Me Deadly feels like an almost modern story told through the 1950s. The characters are more complex compared to other films from the era, and the cinematography adds to the film’s darker atmosphere.

Starship Troopers 1997
I found this to be an amazing adaptation of Robert A. Heinlein’s book. From my perspective, it’s a story about human expansionism and aggression against innocent species (Fascism). I also found that it really exemplifies the endless futility of war and, in my opinion, closely references a specific world event (World War II). I went into this expecting a normal, cheesy sci-fi movie, but I was surprised by how deep the message was. It also didn’t feel like it ran for 2 hours and 11 minutes, the pacing was superb, and I didn’t lose interest once.
