If you view this as a vibe-centric hangout movie about *having* ideas (not the ideas themselves), you'll actually have a great time. There is a slapstick-gag-imperative rhythm to this movie, where Coppola can't let things proceed for more than 45 seconds without throwing some little flourish at you. I can understand why this would be grating to some people, but I'll honestly take all you got, Francis.

Perfect Blue 1997
This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.
Really wonder why this is so praised. Paper thin characters, stale "reality vs. delusion" tropes, and a laughably dumb twist ending combine to make a movie that, if it were live action, would be lambasted from every corner. Even at its meager 81 minute run time this felt like a slog.
