Grave of the Fireflies 1988
This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.
This is one of those movies that support my theory that if you are aware of certain tragedies and are hyper aware that these situations happen on the daily in different forms and already have empathy for them on a whole that these films feel like they just scrape the surface of the problems and are essentially boring because they don't give you anything new to think about.
But this movie came out in 1988 so with a 2021 lens…
