West Side Story 1961

The first time I saw this movie I was about 12, I had to watch it for a class I was taking on Movies and Musical. I remember loving “Somewhere” and “Tonight”,but that’s about it.
Rewatching it was a true experience.The opening sequence is just brillant : between the drawing of Manhattan and the colors of the beginning and the dance scene in the middle of New York’s streets, probably one of my favorite opening for a musical.
Rita Moreno performance is phenomenal and “America” with George Chakiris and the sharks is just amazing.Translated from by -
