As much as I adored Davis’ commanding performance, which felt like it didn’t belong in 1950, I can’t help but feel that a chunk of this film is dragged a lot. I just don’t know where, but somewhere in the middle it definitely feels like it could’ve been trimmed. Maybe I was just really tired too, but I was hooked for the first and third halves of the film.
