Despicable Me 4 2024
i know i am used to rating sophisticated movies here but i couldn’t resist. i absolutely loved this movie. it was so nostalgic and just- ugh.

“i wish he’d look at me.”
this movie has such a endearing quality about it, in the dialogue, in the vibrant way of the main character.
not only was she relatable and adorable, i found that her awkward qualities really just stuck with me and for a movie that came out almost forty years ago, it was really refreshing.
i thought it was a quirky, cute and sweet film with some interesting concepts which really had me invested.
i’m rating it four because i think some things could be worked on, but overall this was a really lovely film.

Ghosts of Girlfriends Past 2009
so so so i watched zodiac and basically i had to balance it out with a romantic movie😭.
this followed almost a similar cliche, the smooth, playboy and the girl who doesn’t out up with it. i must say, im not sure whether it’s Matthew McConaughey’s charm or (it’s his charm) but i thought this character was so- i don’t know, smooth.
im not an enjoyer of second chance romances but i thought this was cute.

Zodiac 2007
as a fan of david fincher’s previous works, i.e se7en and the social network, i throughly enjoyed this movie. there were many reasons for that, which i will likely include later, but for now, i just want to clarify that although zodiac can be considered “overrated”, i think it’s well worth the hype to check out. especially if you enjoy true crime content; if you didn’t know, the zodiac killer was a real murderer from the late sixties and seventies. …
