A horrible exposition of people who think money buys everything, terribly family dysfunctionality, the tragedy of not being treated like an adult by your family, unequal power dynamics in relationships, the kindness of strangers and the beauty of finding kindness in unexpected places (and people), and the value of empathy.

The nudity in the movie is somewhat gratuitous and unnecessary, but it does a good job in highlighting the sleaziness of selling one’s body for money and how gross it…

I knew next to nothing about Bob Dylan’s life or his beginnings so this was a much-needed education. His fuckboy-ness aside, I was moved by his humanity, love for freedom and respect for those who have gone before him, in the way of his heartwarming relationship with Woody Guthrie. Chalamet is as ever utterly brilliant but I was bowled over by Monica Barbaro - the way she masterfully portrays even the tiniest glimmer of emotion across her character’s face left me transfixed: I think I was unable to take my eyes off her in any scene she featured in.

I have given this 4.5 out of 5 simply because of the way the film illustrates the ephemerality of life, the inextinguishable beauty of friendship, the rawness of grief and the ludicrousness of the medieval beliefs that many hold when it comes to assisted suicide and euthanasia.

Tilda Swinton is unfailingly a delight, and the styling team are owed unreserved applause for the faultless hair, makeup and outfits that Julianne Moore and Tilda's characters don throughout the film.

I loved, loved, loved the references to the Bloomsbury Group and Dora Carrington and her ceaseless loyalty to her friends <3

Genuinely found this rather terrifying - it could have been directed more tastefully but the plot is a solid one.

Sydney Sweeney is genuinely a talent beyond compare: consider me a convert ;)
