  Gaze becomes an important fixture in this film. Through the camera work we become almost like accomplices to his murder. Despite the audience’s reaction to disgust and horror of his crimes, we are no innocent; our lack of inaction serves us a guilty verdict. His narration also serves as a form of nightmare fuel, rationalizing his own decisions, contradictory to his own actions.
