Honestly I got curious what the animated version was based off from. Theirs something intrinsically charming about lower budget films to me. I think it’s the way characters talk or argue in a real than “on stage” way to me. While it is more set in grounded(?) esk way it definitely carries itself some whimsy.
It is for real. Just people. Maybe not the best kinds of people. But people nonetheless being people.
