my favourite eggers in a while, captures the vibe of vampires in the 20s and it actually improved on his dark theatrics with relevant filmic invention and references. I also found the transcendental evil compelling, even though at a certain point the trickery and rhythm just got to a touch repetitive and empty and while I loved the final scene it felt like we got there crawling
