  perhaps my expectations for this movie were farrrrrrr too high, but literally how could they not? had to rewatch within a week of my first time to solidify that I sorta hated it

  eggers’ attempt to modernize his adaptation (1. introduced elements of the occult but went nowhere with it….., 2. oversexualizing ellen and orlock’s relationship) contributed nothing to the dracula lore. also whyyyyyYYYYy they did they give skarsgard a count chocula accent????

  plus one star bc the rats did seem happier in this one vs the herzog one
