Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse 2023
An incredible visual spectacle that pours charisma. The music is incredible, the story is genuinely charming, but the characters are where this story shines. The world building is incredibly well done, and the visual spectacle only adds to a great story. One of the greatest animated movies of all time.

Interstellar 2014
Nolan's spectacular style at its best. Deeply emotional, philosophical, and just downright human. This is a prime example of the kinds of deep stories one can tell when given the budget to execute all the elaborate ideas possible. While I believe Inception is the better movie, Interstellar is the better piece of art.

Aliens 1986
This is the movie that spawned an entire action movie template that would be used for the next 20 years. While I can understand that it's the spawn of the 80's action schlock to come, I still see it as so predictable and by-the-book, since I've seen so many movies that try to do Aliens again. That being said, there's a reason this movie is as copied as it is, and it's a really enjoyable watch.
