I didn't really get the point of having an age gap between the main characters, it would still be the same story with or without it, it didn't add anything to the plot. And they never really address it beside that one time she called him a kid or something but that was it... and I think that's the main problem with this movie, the writers never elaborated anything, it was all so superficial so it was kinda impossible to connect with the characters or the story.
