Upon second watching, and knowing how bad this movie is, i actually enjoy it more. i don't mind the weird acting, the campy "vampire power", and the cringy dialog. i just enjoy it for what it is. the plot is actually kinda interesting, and i like the conclusion. this rating is biased and not objective at all but i'm not ashamed to say i like this movie.
the "political satire" nature of this movie is fun to watch, yet there's no character i can attach to so the story is just a vehicle to me. what's amazing is Godzilla itself. Destruction incarnate, yet with somber undertone within it. even Godzilla's theme reflect that on the lyrics. anything giant monster related i will love it no matter what, i guess.
this movie's cast is stack to the max but weirdly enough something bothers me about it, yet i cannot describe it. i don't love it, but i don't hate it either. it's a so so movie for me. but Robert Pattinson acting is, as always, amazing.
this is probably my favorite movie in 2024 (the shitty decision of not releasing this movie in SEA, idk what TOHO is doing). the tension, the reveal, even the human aspect -which is the focal point of this movie- is amazing. the acting is a bit jarring at first, but slowly fade into my unconsciousness because what they deliver with this movie is impeccable. strongly recommend this movie to anyone, not only kaiju fans.
