Even though the whole movie is quite ridiculous I feel like it does a pretty good job at depicting slavery and not glorifying or making it in to a joke. Storyline was pretty good. Haven’t watched the original so feels wrong ranking a remake this high but thoroughly enjoyed.

Definitely a feel good movie, a light watch but after coming off of Shrek and seen a kids movie which is done right this just isn’t quite it.

This is quite possibly the worst movie I have ever watched. But the way that it was the worst also meant it evoked emotions I have never experienced before in a movie theatre. Moments like Jack Black’s dick cheese and Jennifer Coolidge’s complex character arc dragged this steaming pile of shit to an enjoyable viewing experience.

Jake Gyllenhaal is weirdly good at playing a little freak. Watched across like 5 different sittings but still captivated my attention.
