This film captures an element of the immigrant experience I rarely see in media and it does it with a beautifully crafted screenplay and subtle but effective cinematography. The performances are great and while the stakes seem small, the hyper focus on these few characters’ lives makes them important to us, the audience.

The Northman 2022
Robert Eggers is clearly influenced by the films of George Lucas. Lucas himself being such an avant- grade filmmaker, you can see how the various mushroom trips were just Eggers giving homage to Campbell’s best student.
“El Norteño” is a classic tale. I bet Shakespeare would have loved it, in the same way he loved Star Wars.
Eggers clearly saw Revenge of the Sith and said, I want to do that, but with Vikings, blood and guts, enough testosterone-fueled screaming to rival a full season of Dragonball Z, and Anya Taylor Joy.Don’t take your kids to see this, it’s not Star Wars
