    Nowhere near as heady or realised as Parasite but that never seems to be its goal. Instead it keeps it light, funny and accessible. Robert is amazing and I can't believe how easily I keep forgetting he's such a great character actor. And for such a blunt criticism of the most cannibalistic tendencies of our late stage capitalism, I really wasn't expecting that heartwarming of an ending. Just lovely end to end.

Thing is, I watch this one or All of us strangers and I get the feeling that deep down, he believes (as do his characters) that being gay is an inherently isolating, likely miserable experience.     Casi todos mis halagos para esta película son en realidad halagos para Juan Pablo Villalobos y lo mucho que disfruto su obra. Lo refrescante que es en este panorama de creadores que parecen no encontrar otro tono para hablar de la violencia y la corrupción en México que el realismo crudo, casi documental, del que estoy tan cansado.
