One of those films that I’d be really curious to look back on in 20 years and read all these film scholars talk about the context rooted behind this film, both on the cinema/Bong Joon Ho front as well as the American politics front. Quality wise, it’s towards the bottom of Bong’s filmography. The editing is phenomenal, especially giving us viewers the full background story in that first hour. Pattinson is a commanding lead, but we knew that, it’s Ruffalo…

All About Eve 1950
Is it a good film? Yes absolutely. Should it have won Best Picture over Sunset Boulevard? Absolutely not.

Downhill 2020
I’m maybe the biggest supporter of these two writers, so I was seeing this regardless of not knowing the original, but damn I’m left so emotionless about this movie. Never have I seen something so horribly tonally inconsistent, and on top of that, the movie felt incomplete, yet still bored me. That being said, Louis-Dreyfus was great, and there’s one scene in here that was utterly spectacular. But that potential isn’t used anywhere else sadly. Some nice shots and ideas but overall not something I’m going to remember, and that’s really disappointing.
