The last great, American film

3 hour tech demo with an interwoven story about the trials and tribulations of fatherhood, the preservation of wildlife, and the respect we should have for sea creatures. Captivated me more than any big budget film not named The Batman in the past 4 years.

To me, this is John Woo's Magnum Opus. If you like action films with 95 percent gun play, then this is the film for you. The film starts with Chow Yun Fat playing clarinet in a Jazz club ran by John Woo and within 10 minutes there's a shootout in a dim sum parlor. The action set pieces only grow more and more insane as the film progresses. It is my favorite film of all time. It's an encapsulation of all the Hong Kong cinema I watched as a youth and the admiration I developed for the art form.
