  forgot to log but i thought mickey 17 really set up some cool ideas in the first half and then made a really jarring pivot to political allegory that didn’t actually really make any critique.

  as of rn 3 stars, i prefer it to french dispatch but it has a lot of same flaws imo. i feel his earlier movies had so much more emotion and these last few have lacked it, instead focusing solely on aesthetics and comedy, which is fine, but i miss the more poignant and human elements of his films. none of the characters feel real in the slightest. and yes, it is a funny movie but i was hoping for…
