An unforgettable film in every category that stays with you after the credits role.

The first film I watched that directed me to my passion: filmmaking. This is the film that made me realize what I want to do and the dream I want to achieve. The film that opened my eyes to the art form and technical aspects of filmmaking. I always loved movies, but I owe City of God for realizing it can be more than just entertainment. It awakened me to what I love most, and guided me toward the path of cinema.

Where do I even begin… this was one helluva experience. The score, cinematography, set pieces/locations, performances, and overall direction is magnificent. I loved literally every single second. The heavily dark and gothic feel is painted throughout the runtime, which is just beautiful to witness. The aggressive sound of the batmobile’s engine roaring, to the sound of footsteps creeping up on you, to the thumps and broken bones of vengeance produces goosebumps.

The arc of Batman himself and how the people…

A small movie I’ve been anticipating since I heard about it. As a fan of Freddie Gibbs’ music and personality, the idea of him starring in a film got me curious and excited. Freddie really has the acting chops and truly shines here. I hope to see him in more acting roles for the future. Also, the confident filmmaking on display really enhances the watch for me, and is appreciated. Sure, it’s a slow burn, and I can nitpick some…

A must watch theater experience! Everything about this film needs to be viewed in a theater. This might sound silly, but one of the few films I’ve seen in years, where the audience claps, shouts, and gasps throughout the runtime that wasn’t a comic book movie. Also, I was not expecting to be so emotionally invested in this. I was expecting some great action and filmmaking, but I wasn’t ready for all the emotions that came with this. Bravo to everyone involved. This is why I love cinema.

The film techniques were so great and added so much creepiness. Everything regarding how it was filmed added so much in a very unique way.

Elisabeth Moss carries this film with such an amazing performance, and making everything feel very realistic. You feel for her, yet you understand the perspectives of those she talks to.

    Loved it!
