So many good ideas, such a disappointing payoff. The third act really takes a nosedive. It starts big, it ends tiny.

The Other Way Around 2024
"The Passion of Anna" meets "The Limits of Control".
It's a sweet film, but also a very rigorous intellectual exercise: cinema portrayed as a successor of existencial philosophy. Some scenes felt a bit unnecessary to me, and the meta angle doesn't always work. However, it is very intriguing.

This thing is very impressive. I don't think I've ever seen a film that starts with such an instigating premise and then gets worse and worse and worse - until reaching levels of almost complete unwatchability. And the reason why it keeps declining is because it's so fucking DUMB.
Not fun dumb, though. More like "look at how incredible I am with my eyefish lenses and my high school conceptions of female empowerment" dumb. And the structure is soooo repetitive...…
