Nothing much to say about the plot, it’s a sweet slice of life / coming-of-age. The rhythm is a bit slow and messy but as the protagonists are young teenagers it implies being naive and extra in the decisions they make.
The most problematic thing for me is the animation, all the backgrounds do have this AI filter on it to make it look like it’s a drawing of some sort. The 3D rotoscoping is odd, very stiff and sometimes botched, especially the faces and expressions. It bothered me throughout the movie.

This movie evokes many controversial topics of the japanese society, school harassment, homosexuality, the view on single mothers and so on.
Throughout the movie, we connect dots and hope for an happy ending but it’s a bitter sweet one that has been delivered here.
