  Saccharine in the style of the Walt-era films and his fascistic egomania results in a beautiful hour-long portrait of a forest. Very much evokes the classic fairy tale. Would make a great three-hour long ballet, the intermissions are so easily demarcated.   Such a sexy film, potently erotic, loved the sfx. I would have survived this cos im not a goddamn weepy bleeding-heart liberal dog freak.   There's criticism the film isn't scary enough and that the scares are ridiculous and I think it's because this film is often recommended as a horror when it's really a family drama. I also see it criticised as unresolved and underdeveloped, but to an extent I find the catharsis intentionally denied.
