Fun movie but i just wish it was more. Both Keke and SZA do great in the film but I feel what they were given was just underwhelming. Obviously plays into the californian/african-american experience which I really liked, but the writing wasn't funny enough to bind the whole thing together. Feels like a passion project from everyone behind it and I love that it exists, but I just wanted it to go crazier idk
Critically a 3, but this movie just has a charm that I can't put my finger on. First half was good, second half was actually pretty great, Glen Powell did good, very ridiculous movie but a fun watch overall with some things that bugged me. I say go check it out, but if you want to watch a movie with a comedic main lead trying to figure out a relationship right now go ahead and book a ticket to "The Fall Guy" instead
