Poor Things 2023
I wanted to like it so much more than I actually did, it seemed like it would’ve been right up my alley with frankenstein-ish themes and fantastical sets and makeup/costumes but what irked me most was that the majority of the movie about discovering “humanity” and “womanhood” was sex. so much sex. is there really nothing else a male filmmaker can think of as what the human (female) experience is? I felt like there was a lot of wasted potential…
