9413 is one of those CAT III films that got its infamous rating for drug use and bad language rather than anything actually shocking or nefarious. Once the initial disappointment dissipated, I actually found a lot to like here. Directed by prolific Hong Kong actor Francis Ng (who also stars), 9413 is something of a shambles in terms of plot and tone. It takes a while before its narrative even begins to form. Characters make extraordinarily strange choices and guns are relentlessly waved in faces. But I couldn't help but get into its weird, dreamlike style.
