We watched this film in my English class as we read the book over the last couple months, and I enjoyed the book enough, but it wasn't one of my favorites. It does a nice job of telling it's story and I really liked the friendship between Gene and Finny, and it ends in a surprisingly emotional and impactful way, but the actual story isn't one that I found all too captivating, I just found it to be a bit too simplistic and thought it lingered in some places for too long, and I think just about that same thing could be said for this film.
