Neeraj Pandey who now have put three great thrillers that has distinguished him as a filmmaker. A Wednesday, Special 26 and now Baby. He has put three exceptional movies in an industry where romantic and larger than life movies are more appreciated.
Baby is a story of splinter cell, which was just formed by the government on trial basis. This cell are spies who will do anything for their country and have stopped many attacks. But a new threat is out there and they have to stop it with only 4 members on the field.

*For the 2nd time in 24 years Akshay Kumar can be proud that he has delivered a believable performance,now that's what happens when you have a competent director at the helm
*Neeraj Pandey who is known for the power packed A Wednesday and the cat and mouse thriller Special 26 yet again proves he is a director who respects the audience
*There are few nods to Argo and Zero Dark Thirty but thats only a minor quibble. I did also however notice the theme heard in the background before a Spiderman movie begins in certain places.
*Taapsee Pannu was the surprise element,this chick can kick ass and how!!!
*There is a bit of jingoism but i feel some of the other things mentioned were also very true.
* Its a bit long and some of it may seem implausible,but since its done with so much energy,its hard not to look away.

It's always interesting to see Bollywood make a jab at a spy thriller. I usually am not that big of a fan of the over-the-top action that Bollywood produces, but this one wasn't all that bad honestly. This time there were no musical scenes appearing suddenly and thank god for that. Also it wouldn't be a proper Bollywood movie without the most despicable portrayal of the Pakistani population. No wonder this movie got banned there.

Neeraj Pandey, the man behind 'A Wednesday' and 'Special 26', does it again and completes his hat-trick success story in style with 'Baby', an action packed, adequately patriotic, immensely entertaining, nail biting espionage thriller coupled with ample cinematic liberties that keeps you on the edge of your seat with break neck pace even with its 150 minutes running time on the backdrop of terrorism and the tensions between India and Pakistan. It might seem a bit far from logic at times with the sensibilities of 'Mission Impossible' franchise, but nonetheless provides damn good fun owing to Neeraj Pandey's prowess. The lead cast too comes up with a great show in making it a thoroughly engaging watch.

Baby (2015):
This film was been watchlist for a while, but I got the chance to witness this film and checked this out from my watchlist with heavy satisfaction. Neeraj Pandey is one of the prominent directors In Indian cinema, who tries to bring the grounded to realistic storytelling. His intentions have achieved in taking the interesting world to the screen.
Baby is not a usual Bollywood movie involving NRI Romance and family reacting over-the-top emotions every second to menial matters. This film heavily constitutes engaging moments, adrenaline action set pieces and interesting characters. Despite having more appreciative elements, this film could have been edited well with tactical cuts.
Overall, Baby is a High-Octane Espionage thriller with the desi touch.
If it wasn't for the way too extended runtime which really caused the film to drag for a while there, "Baby" was already a top-notch Bourne-style espionage thriller; featuring a performance definitely worth the time spent watching from Akshay Kumar and his supporting cast.
Nevertheless, I was still pretty entertained by it; particularly speaking of the last hour that really kept me nowhere but by the edge of my seat the entire way through. There were also some damn good shots cinematography-wise; mostly thanks to its exotic filming locations in the likes of Istanbul to Kathmandu, Nepal and Abu Dhabi. Even the scenes shot back home in India look amazing with those excellent use of color palettes and all.

"Baby" is the story of an elite Indian intelligence unit that, in its early years, successfully took down a major terrorist on its way to becoming an intelligence mainstay. At times, the film is evocative of "Mission: Impossible" with the threat of disavowal looming and just a handful of agents with the odds against them.
One sequence in particular, where the music suddenly drops out and the picture dares you to hold your breath is pure DePalma even if the suspense is only for a few moments rather than a few minutes.

Director Neeraj Pandey's films are a mixture of old school Bollywood formula, slick modern execution and bouts of intense suspense with some bombastic, social commentary. His films don't have clueless idiots with walkie talkies pretending to be commandoes. They have reasonably realistic depiction of police work and ludicrous 'holy cow that was awesome' thrills. I suspect this as a sequel to Special 26; characters repeated, dialogues interconnected, script interconnected with same esessence. I am going with 3 out of 5 because of all the influence it has gathered from similar kind of movies. Enjoy it for brisk action triller as it is.
