Review by David Stratton
After a scuffle in an inner-city back alley, John Kelly, (TRAVIS McMAHON) heads west in his 1972 Ford Fairmont with a prisoner, Eli Jones, (DAVOD LYONS), bound and gagged on the back seat. John has a brief, unsettling, encounter with a local cop, Roscoe, (BRYAN BROWN), whose territory appears to cover half of Australia.
The kidnapper and his victim – who are apparently on their way to a rendezvous in the middle of nowhere – also have an unexpected confrontation with road train driver Thommo, (SHANE JACOBSON).
The printed synopsis of this deeply enigmatic film actually tells you more about the plot than you’re able to glean from the screen.
Questions abound.…
