That was... unsettling... to say the least...
I've traveled too far into the cinematic wasteland. I'm ready to turn back now.
This is like the long lost Tool video of my youth. There are few objects in all of cinema that I find as strikingly tactile as stop-motion animal fur.
A truly dour experience but wow is that animation hauntingly beautiful. I'll definitely be watching more from these folks.

2) I don't want it taking advantage of me
3) I wanna talk about Canis. It belongs to the category Sick Butt Cool (which hey Kaleb! It might also be the name of a band, who might also be a decent opponent to Pussy Gutts.

outstanding. depressing and gruesome, but that’s the whole point. had a huge emotional weight to it that most shorts don’t.
love the animation style in this. the stop motion + the black & white + the bleakness of the narrative makes for a really good dark storybook sort of feeling.
definitely not for everyone.

This is the best horror short I've seen to this point Canis wasn't a geekshow that exploited it's materials (see Bobby Yeah). Nor was it a cheaply, but smartly done single-note classic like Lights Out. Instead, Canis (despite slightly Burtonesque character design for the human characters) is a completely immersive black and white horror experience that is very clear in it's silent, trenchant drama. I've never seen a post-apocalyptic film give McCarthy's The Road a run for it's money. I always thought adding anything but the most basic, alienated drama in a story about a world of zombies rooting around ashes for the scent of fresh meat.

Boy, Isle Of Dogs is a lot more fucked up than I remember.
Seriously though, this one was pretty good. Much prefer it over Violet, Fisher of the Black Sea. Animation seems a little better, though still janky at times. Plot was interesting, if not a little weird. Had a couple shots that I actually liked.
I don't think I'd actively recommend this, but it's alright. You could watch it and enjoy it.
