i'm not saying this film is not a mediocre high school film about cheating, i'm also not saying it was brilliant and genius to a 15 year old me who was stuck in a school of squares. i guess i needed a taste of chaos? or maybe i needed to know how cheating can be glorified only and only in america
this movie holds a special place in my heart and I stand by how funny it is.
I vividly remember being 15, seeing this movie by pure chance and immediately starting to imitate and become Handsome Davis (Trevor Fehrman). That very same year I became a bit lazy, I stole a test and got the same haircut as him. Thankfully, I eventually got on the right track.
I got an 84 on a random test years later at uni, chuckled and started singing the Answer Song. Something about that particular score feels so right and makes me remember the good old days.
Underrated and overhated movie, easy Five Stars, they don't make them like this anymore. Truly unique vibes.
