  Super low budget "Cheap Thrills" like concoction about a guy being brutally punished by someone for some offense that the guy for the life of him cannot remember. The good running gag of this is that the guy keeps confessing (and we see him flashing back) to all these different horrible things he's done only to find out from the exasperated torturer that no you don't have the right offense yet. ("You keep confessing to all these horrible things you've done to prostitutes and junkies--you can remember them but you can't remember me???")   This was a different movie. Definitely different. The story has to do with Lance, who has done many bad things in his life. After his car breaks down, a guy picks him up and makes him either kill his brother or let his wife die. The guy isn't done with him after that though. He lets people that Lance has wronged take a little bit of revenge on Lance, one piece of Lance that is.

  You might be thinking this falls into torture porn, but it doesn't. The movie doesn't show what happens to Lance very often. It does show one of his legs being chopped off, but that is it. The story actually leans a bit more towards comedy.…

  I really like Trent Haaga flicks he directs, writes or stars in and Trent directed this one.

  For those who don't know his work he infuses most of his work with a dark humor.

  Chop features, Will Keenan, as a husband who is forced to choose between killing his brother or having his wife killed.

  Timothy Muskatell plays his tormentor who just wants Will to apoligize for the wrong he did him while not telling anyone about what is going on.

  As the situation escalates, Will begins remembering the bad things he has done, but none are related to Timothy. Timothy being the righteous dude he is contacts the people that WIll has wronged so they can enact revenge.

  Rapidly rising in my favorite Revenge movies. It may not be as dark as some but its a fun humorous ride. Adam Minarovich penned a great little low budget gem and had a really funny back and forth with Tamil T Rhee who surprisingly hasn't appeared in anything since.Director Trent Haaga (who wrote the equally awesome flick Dead Girl ) keeps the pace at breakneck speed and never lets up on the audience from the opening scene. Its dark of course but the humor and the overall message of the film are awesomely on point.   This movie can't quite hide it's lack of technical finesse but the upside is that it's a very fun watch if you like super dark comedies. The way it piles on the increasingly gruesome absurdity with glee gives it an infectious anarchic energy I loved. It's too silly to be genuinely disturbing but that also makes it a little more accessible and I'm surprised it's not more well known. What really makes it all work, even though it is extremely clever at its core, are the leads as this is essentially a two man show.   Horror Dark Comedy

  A man breaks down on the side of the road only to be picked up by someone who has a hatred for him and is then tortured. There is nothing scary or horrifying about this film, most if not all of the violence is off screen and some of the humor falls flat. After our character is kidnaped he goes through some torture and we see through flash backs why he is hated. This would be so much better if there was graphic violence because we would have the clash of humor and terror but there is nothing terrifying about the scenarios unless you're new to horror. Now towards the end it does get more graphic but for me its too little too late. These things don't completely ruin the film but would make it a lot better if they had gone a more graphic route earlier.

  This is actually a pretty fun little gem. The story is actually kind of engaging, the villain does such a good job and really carries the film. The biggest bone to pick was I did not care for the lead. It’s not that I think humor was a bad choice, but I didn’t care for his brand. Some of the other attempts were better but with him being the focal point more is catered to him. The writing is actually pretty clever and flows well. It doesn’t over stay it’s welcome and gets in and gets out. The run time is actually about 20 minutes shorter than the list LB time. I wish we got a little more from the ending, but this one did work for me in the absurdist humor way.
