  i loved this so so much :( my sapphic universe!!!! Also how does no one talks about the ICONIC dancing to kajra re in the middle of a dessert scene. And oh my god the climax is more iconic than ddlj. I cried to this so much man. I have been listening to yeh hosla kaise jhuken for so long in my life and I finally watched this film, I feel like some major thing has happened to me.

  Also, I miss Ayesha Takia, she's almost ethereal in my imaginations, i associate her with some of the most important pieces of media in my life, falguni pathak and Tarzan memories as a kid. Oh man..

  Nagesh Kukunoor’s drama. Two women with dissimilar backgrounds, miles at a distance, and unknowns to each other - are connected by disaster. In Hindi with English subtitles.

  The story concerns two women become linked by a sole catastrophe. When one's husband becomes the source for the disaster, the other's husband perishes, forgiveness is the only way at least one of them will locate their contentment again.

  Ayesha Takia and Gul Panag both give very good performances in their respective roles as Meera and Zeenat, the two very different ladies involved. Meera is the woman who becomes a widow after her husband dies, while Zeenat is the other woman who has to save a husband from being suspected of murder.

  There is something about Rajasthan which evokes nostalgia within me.The cinematography is simple yet expressive. Gul Panag and Ayesha Takia deliver unforgettable performances. The director depicts the changing face of women whilst showing the stagnant face of age old traditions.One of my favorites of the year.
