A solid supernatural- murder mystery- revenge thriller. Though it does utilize the regular generic tropes, the well paced narrative, different treatment, good suspense and twists manage to keep one engaged right through. The technical values are top notch. Thaman scores with his background score.
A thrilling movie connected with water, it was well written and the cinematique techinques were cool. Art direction, cinematography and the movie is well made and engaging screenplay. The wetness in most of the movie gives a pleasant feel to each frame. The gloomy and rainy shots were nice and matched the movie well, the climate brings the mood of the film 🔥👌
I like the cast too, wonderful acting from all lead actors, especially Aadhi's before and after acting was fantastic. The heroin, she was cute and played her role well Mazhai Mazhai song awesome.... superb chemistry between Ramya and Vasu 🤌❤️
Overall: Eeram is one of the most and few exciting good Tamil thrillers. Ending could have been better... It looked as if it was shot in a hurry!! Otherwise, worth a watch differential approach to crime, horror, thriller genre 👏📈
The core plot is somewhat similar to Vikram K Kumar's ( Yavarum nalam 2009 ).
In that movie ,the spirit will use Television 📺 as a medium for revenge and in Eeram the spirit uses water 💧 as medium.
The plus is screenplay is fantastic with a solid story 👌.
i did not expect to like this movie this much but yooo the transitions and symbolism is soo cool especially for an old movie. aadi is so underrated 😭 he has so much potential he deserves more ‼️ need to watch sabdham now 🤓
i found this movie cuz spotify randomly played kurivipina and it brought back so much nostalgia but i literally don’t remember listening to the song ever??? must’ve heard it when i was younger lol.
I saw this at Udhayam theatre and on film that's the same place where a character gets murdered in the restroom. The darrrrrrrr that I had to access the restroom during interval to wash the hands at the basin ughhhhh.
Never gets old. Peak Arivazhagan.
Eeram - 8/10. Eeram was one of the few tamil cinema movies that did the supernatural horror genre in an interesting and exciting way. Utilizing the concept of water and how it can be communicative towards someone in supernatural ways, it makes for an interesting and very engaging watch. Its a severely underrated tamil hit indeed!
Chinna vayasula paathu en pant eeram aagiduchu 😐😐😐
Looking forward to witness “Sabdham”
rewatching the film, the romance that i distinctly felt very wholesome about a long long time ago don't hold up well but fortunately the brilliant soundtrack does salvage some of the nostalgia; otherwise, the film is remains largely impressive with its specific gothic grammar (with some deviations and subversions, of course) and retain the wet, dreary but extremely romantic (gothic) rainy weather aesthetic, something that has never since been pulled off with such intensity again in Tamil cinema; backed by smart cinematography (instances such as the elaborate gothification of the apartment complex), the film is a very engaging watch.
Bala ❎
Vasu✅
Ramya akka paavam 🥲
Similar plot to "Yavarum Nalam" (2009). Uses water as the spirit's medium for revenge.
Screenplay is fantastic with a solid story!
"Ennaiya paathu sollunga"
A horror crime without any pei pisasu, supper, watched in peace.
Arivazhagan casually walked into the Tamil industry on a rainy day, dropped one of the best debuts, walked away, and never cameback.
