Though the idea is a rip off from Nolan’s Memento, ARM sprinkles the narrative with enough enticing elements and makes the revenge drama so commercially engaging and enjoyable. The flashback sequences was so damn impactful, retaining its freshness factor even today and staying as close to heart. The delightful performances-chemistry between Suriya-Asin and the scintillating evergreen music from Harris Jayaraj help overshadow the shortcomings and glitches, making this mystery action thriller into one highly satisfying watch.

Still, I prefer the 2008 Hindi remake over this (better making, A.R. Rahman’s killer album, no unnecessary twin villain twist etc.).

this is gonna sound so mean but when the villain hits kalpana with that iron rod it made such a satisfying thunk noise that i laughed

Jokes aside, suriya is the best version of Sanjay and I will not be taking any criticisms!!! He does most of his acting with his beautiful eyes, but I’m not complaining because it’s a truly mesmerising performance 💖
I talked about Ghajini in my other review already (and yes I’m crazy and watched the same movie in different languages on the same day) so I’m just going to focus on the music. We’re never getting the first love goosebumps of Oru Malaai, or the soft vibes from Suttum Vizhi again. Harris Jayraj 🙏🏽
