Well all the part with siddique narration was kinda fun , rest was a ready to eat convenient paripuvada thriller.
No matter how many times you guys try to soft re-launch him, the guy can't act to even save his life. This time went to the extremes of making it seem like he's shouldering the movie while all the supporting cast were carrying the movie. I mean they were also bad, but thammil bedham thomman.
The guy who did the score overcompensated for the bad performances by distracting you right from the first scene, a true soldier, took one for the team .
Well I'm eggsited for golum mystery continues where sunny wayne is the kingpin with a god awful…
The result just falls flat.
A howdunnit murder mystery with an interesting story turned into a script that needs more drafts. The direction with the use of camera and music tries to cover up any weakness in the script which kind of works by the second half of the movie. The over-the-top use of music reminded me of how some soap operas use plagiarised over-the-top action music from movies for no reason while showing close-ups of everyone in that scene. Even though this was only two hours, it could still have trimmed another twenty minutes out of it and it would've worked better. The lead actor wasn't particularly bad but besides his chiselled body and stoic posture, he couldn't really bring the audience to care…
Golam is a gripping film that blends suspense and emotion effortlessly, with strong performances and an engaging storyline.
My bro skipped acting class for a session at the gym
Golam doesn't have much depth in its 'Murder on the Orient Express'-ish narrative, where the movie couldn't give any of its characters any meaningful drive other than pharmaceutical greed and a common man's revenge. But it's not a bad medical thriller, because the first has an intriguing idea on the corruption of modern medicine and the second half deal's with what I think is a well knit murder plot. While all characters are forgettable and leave no impact on you or the story, I do think they tried to weave in each character's role in an office to lead to an almost perfect murder. Not gonna lie, the amount of work put into building this plot makes you think that…
Every whodunit has 3 key elements: who, how and why.
Golam gets the second one right, "how" which ends up being the most engaging portion of the entire movie. The "who" resembles a famous Agatha Christie novel and ends up being predictable, yet novel. The "why" is where the problem with Golam lies. Even though it has some fresh ideas, the lack of coherence leads to bland revelations.
Happy to see malayalam filmmakers coming up with fresh ideas and new filmmaking styles. Also, high time this sequel bandwagon stopped. Ruined the ending pretty much for Golam.
PS: Did Ranjith Sajeev's dad or something produce this movie? First of all a bad casting and then unnecessary shirtless scenes. Gosh.
A decent investigation thriller movie from malayalam, loved the story and the plot twists. Movie also have a decent making and performance.
Edo main leadu onnu anangi cheyyadoo :)
"This is something unusual, Something BIG"
A new modus operandi for murder mystery and movies with such content are rare in Mollywood.
Once the film starts to pick up phase this one feels very interesting and also engaging.
Golam ends with a note saying "Mystery continues" suggesting the possibility of a bigger sequel. I am damn excited for the next and even bigger one.
The whole cast and crew deserves and applause!!
