One of Lukas Moodysson’s greatest achievements, and one of the greatest TV-Shows I’ve ever seen. Watched it all in one day, and I’ve already started a rewatch of it. Beautiful, real and honest in the way that only Moodysson could achieve. It’s also extremely funny, and got me laughing consistently. Currently reading Lukas’ novel ‘Döden och Co.’ too, and it’s really good. Very dark and sad stuff, but totally worthwhile.

Hilarious. Post-Midsommar Jesus-like Vilhelm Blomgren's Gösta is the perfect anti-hero. He can only do good but constantly ends up being exploited by everyone ... but will he ever get fed up?

Gösta is a child psychologist in a small Swedish town. He's a real sweetheart and just wants to help everybody, perhaps in a way that's overly simplistic and naïve. People are constantly taking advantage of his good nature and this is the story of how he learns to strike a better balance of conditional love in order to survive.
Everything begins so peacefully in his little clapboard shack with his loving girlfriend Melissa. She worries that perhaps she is too loving and that she can't handle the intensity and might need to pull back. Before too long Gösta's erratic, narcissistic father throws himself into the mix. خیلی دوستش داشتم. از لحظه‌ی اول یه سریال بسیار خوش‌ریتم و بامزه و چشم‌تیز بود. در اینجا منظورم از چشم‌تیز یه کیفیت شخصیه. منظورم اینه که چشم کارگردان تیزه، به جزئیات زندگی و توی این فیلم قاب‌ها و نماهایی می‌بینیم از جزئیاتی که من هم همیشه دوست داشتم اگر سینماگر می‌شدم توی کارهام استفاده می‌کردم. نوع تدوینش هم دقیقا مورد سلقیه‌ی من بود. مثلا تیتراژ شروع که محکم کوبیده می‌شد و محکم تموم می‌شد. جزئی‌بینی هم برای من از جنس لحظاتیه که توی زندگی وجود دارن و خیلی بی‌معنی‌ان ولی هستن. مثلا اونایی که در شروع اپیزود خودِ گوستا داره به یک قرص جوشان در حال حل شدن نگاه می‌کنه. این توجه به چیزهای کوچک اون چیزیه که باعث می‌شه…

Att Lukas Moodysson gjort den här serien känns som ett enormt treat! Klart en av de bästa serierna jag sett någonsin. Så fin, rolig, sorlig och karaktärer som är bra uppbyggda och man bryr sig om dom så mycket. Timingen och dialogen är unmatched varje avsnitt är enjojable!

Mattias Silvell has earned foreverlegend status for what he did here.Everyone else shines as well in this unflinching depiction of 2010s hangups—self-absorption, codependency, anxiety and pathological altruism in the evening land of the west. A snapshot of things JUST before novelcoronavirus came and made things even better.
Tried in vain to get the masses to take the Gösta pill when it was easy to find and stream. As of 2024 it appears to be unavailable everywhere outside of Sweden or Torrentania. Despite its scarcity, this gem of a miniseries deserves more viewership…
